The Weltmeister (translation: World Champion) EX5-Z was the best-selling A-class electric SUV in China last year, not bad from a nearly new car company. It offers solid design, and an attractive range and price, plus a couple of quirky features – voice activated boot anyone? The fact that Weltmeister has made this much progress in a few short years begs the question: have legacy car companies already lost the EV battle?
